The Heart of God for Chertsey

“Turn your eyes upon Jesus” – from a Covid-19 survivor

Serving the people of Chertsey

St. Peter’s is one of the financing churches for Runnymede Foodbank. Today we have given an additional £600 in addition to our large annual grant to the trust. We are also supporting individuals and families with one off grants to sustain them and across the town have individuals in the community supporting and shopping for those locked down.

It is a privilege to serve the community of Chertsey. A number of people within the Church Community are working as doctors, nurses, reception staff, pharmacy staff across the town and wider county. Thank you and God bless you.

COVID-19 policy summary

The following summarises St. Peter’s Church policies in the light of the current public health crisis, and will be reviewed regularly.

  • All public worship has now been suspended along with all ministries involving face to face contact in line with Church of England policy.
  • All care home visits have been stopped.
  • Baptisms are suspended until the Autumn as parental preparation will be difficult to arrange and gatherings too big.
  • Weddings may continue but with no more than 6 guests.
  • Funerals will continue – speak to Tim about policy.
  • On three evenings a week (at 9pm) we will use Facebook Live to broadcast a 10 minute reading from the bible, a short reflection and then prayer for the town of Chertsey in particular.
  • We are also calling for 10 minutes of prayer across the town by all Christians living in Chertsey each evening at 9.00pm. The daily feed will also be placed on our website along with other church and community updates.
  • There will be a Sunday act of worship online at 10.30am. From 29th March we aim to stream worship from a closed St. Peter’s Church with music, prayers and a sermon.
  • The church will, as always, be open during the week and special resources for prayer made available in addition to the existing prayer room.
  • The office is closed to personal callers but the usual phone number and e-mail address are available.
