Pop Along Heroes
A supportive group for parents and carers of children with additional needs - Tuesdays 10.30am-1pm
No diagnosis needed – All are welcome, with or without their children.
We provide a safe, non-judgemental space for families to meet others on a similar journey into the world of additional needs; a community of love & support, where families can accompany each other through different stages of diagnosis (or not), hospital appointments, specialists, benefits, equipment, blue badges etc. A whole new world!
This group is helped by a variety of professional people, including:
- Family Voice Surrey.
- Early years support.
- Home Start.
- Home School Link Workers.
- Family Support Coordinator
- Early Support Team.
- Surrey CC.
Sandie helps with refreshments whilst Sue, Ali & Hannah volunteer and bring their own children who have additional needs. All can offer guidance & support as you navigate your way into the world of disability & additional needs which can feel very lonely & isolating.
Each week we have a variety of health care professionals from Surrey & beyond who are able to signpost you to organisations, schools, groups & charities etc that might help you.
Families can enjoy a light lunch together & there is a variety of specialist toys & equipment for the children to play with, and if appropriate, we will end the session with nursery rhymes.
