St Peter’s Church is seeking a dedicated, reliable and thorough cleaner. The church is situated in the centre of the town and is open to the public daily. The hall is used by church and local community groups throughout the week. We take pride in our historic building and community spaces, this role is vital to keeping our church welcoming, safe and beautiful for parishioners, visitors and community groups. Job title: Cleaner

Location: St Peter’s Church, Windsor Street, Chertsey, Surrey KT16 8AT

Hours: Part-time 10 hours per week (flexible hours to be discussed but must accommodate weekly church and hall useage. This will involve some early mornings, and some afternoons)

Pay: £12.71 per hour paid monthly.

Contract: Permanent, part time. Subject to probation period.

Key Responsibilities

• Tidying, church, hall and grounds.
• Emptying all internal bins into external bins.
• Clearing litter from church garden and frontage and keeping these areas swept and tidy.
• Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors in hall and church.
• Cleaning toilets, sinks, and surfaces. Replenishing toilet rolls, hand towels, soap and cleaning products.
• Keeping the kitchen clean and food safe.
• We are looking for:

Experience: Previous commercial or domestic cleaning experience desirable, but not essential.

Qualities: Trustworthy, respectful, self-motivated and able to work independently without direct supervision.

Physical Fitness: Ability to handle physical tasks including lifting light furniture or equipment.
